Itraconazole Absorbent Dusting Powder is a topical antifungal formulation containing Itraconazole, a broad-spectrum triazole antifungal agent. It is combined with absorbent powders to provide effective treatment of various superficial fungal infections by inhibiting fungal cell membrane synthesis. The absorbent base helps keep the affected area dry, reducing moisture that favors fungal growth.

Composition (per gram):

• Itraconazole USP: 1% w/w (10 mg)

• Absorbent base (e.g., talc, zinc oxide, starch): q.s. to 1 g

Indications:

• Dermatophytosis (Tinea corporis, Tinea cruris, Tinea pedis)

• Candidiasis of skin and folds

• Pityriasis versicolor

• Other superficial fungal infections

Mechanism of Action:

Itraconazole inhibits the fungal cytochrome P450 enzyme 14-α-demethylase, disrupting ergosterol synthesis, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This impairs fungal cell membrane integrity, leading to fungal cell death.

Clotrimazole dusting powder is a topical antifungal medication used to treat and prevent fungal skin infections. The absorbent powder form helps keep the skin dry, which further discourages fungal growth.

Clotrimazole belongs to the imidazole class of antifungals. It works by:

• Inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes

• This leads to disruption of the fungal cell membrane, causing the fungus to die
